Babywearing!

So, i started just like a lot of people do.....with a Baby Bjorn. I carried Alistair in that thing ALL THE TIME and it took me quite a while to figure out that what I was doing had a name! Babywearing! I just liked to have him close to me and have my hands free to do things. I began to learn more and I now have several different carriers. (I still use the Bjorn from time to time, but I'm partial to my ring sling for Ronan right now). I am SURE that Alistair benefitted from it A LOT and now, so is Ronan!

I love wearing my children! I believe it has helped us bond, helped facilitate breastfeeding, it has helped them feel more secure and has contributed to their social, emotional and cognitive development. (may I add here: both of boys have preferred to be worn than sat in a bucket seat or laid on the floor staring at the ceiling......wouldn't you?)

I could keep going and get into the long, wordy story of my journey to babywearing, but I will spare you that. (most of you who know me personally, know I can get wordy!) What I DO want to say here is this:

Amidst all the baby carrier recalls, there has been a lot of debate over babywearing being safe. I'm here to tell you it is perfectly safe.
