Grandma & Aunt Connie Visit

Alistair's Grandma Centric and Great Aunt Connie came to visit last weekend! It was a treat for EVERYONE! It was more than wonderful to see my mom and godmother, but it was especially amazing to introduce them to Alistair. I just loved watching them gush over him and seeing how proud they are. It was a beautiful weekend....and all too short.

GRANDMA IS BOUNCING THE BURPS OUT.....she's better at this than Mommy is!

I LOVE MY AUNT CONNIE

USUALLY, WHEN SOMEONE PASSES OUT LIKE THIS, WE WOULD DRAW THINGS ON THEIR FACE WITH A SHARPIE. BUT ALISTAIR IS SO CUTE, WE JUST TAKE PICTURES!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Hurray! Today is Alistair's 1 month birthday! Can you believe it?! I still can't believe he's here, let alone 1 month old already! He is doing so well and so are Mommy and Daddy. We sort of "fell" into this family thing pretty naturally and it all just feels so RIGHT! Alistair was suppossed to be here, our life is fulfilled and HAPPY! I am overwhelmed everyday by the love I feel for my family. "Amazing" does not begin to describe it!

Alistair had his 1 month weight check yesterday. He is 11 lbs. 3 oz and 23 inches long! He is healthy and growing well.

BIIIIIGGGGG BLUES!

MOMMY LOVE!

Just a reminder...

...That this Saturday is the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk in Virginia Beach. Currently over 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease. Unless we find a way to change the course, 16 million Americans could have Alzheimer’s by 2050. The Alzheimer's Association funds research that may slow the progression of the disease and one day, maybe, cure or prevent it. The association also sponsors support programs all over the country for victims of this devastating disease and their families.

If you are interested in learning more about The Alzheimer's Association, you can visit their website. (http://www.alz.org/)

Alistair and I are walking this Saturday! Please consider sponsoring us and help raise money for an organization that is doing such wonderful things. To sponsor us, click on the link to the right of the screen "Donate to the Alzheimer's Association." It will direct you to our personal page, where you can donate online! Our goal is to raise $200 for this event! Donations are open until Novemer 15th!

To learn more about our particular event, you can visit the website for the Southeastern Virginia Chapter's Memory Walk. (http://www.kintera.org/FAF/home/default.asp?ievent=223449)

THANK YOU FOR HELPING US MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!

Payback and exciting development!

Thank you, Shirley and Doug, for sending more congratulations! The confetti was great, although it ended up EVERYWHERE! I guess that's payback for the confetti in the baby shower invitations! Thank you so much! I got a good laugh out of it!

Thank you, Pam and Doug Kennedy, for also sending another card! It was so thoughtful of you! We promise to come visit when we can!

Thanks, also to Dad Jim (Pappy) for the Gymboree gift card! Gymboree blankets are perfect! The right amount of soft, not too thick, not too thin, and big enough for a giraffe boy! Alistair is pictured swaddled in one of his new blankets I bought with the gift card!

I am also posting a picture of Alistair playing with his toys this morning. He will bat at toys hung in front of him, but hasn't grabed one yet...until this morning! I was shaking his rattle (from Dysingers), he turned his head and grabbed it! When I let go, he held it for several seconds! I was so happy about this latest development, I had to include it in today's post!

Breast milk, you made my day!

Alistair had his 2 week check-up this morning and he is growing well! He is now 9lbs 7oz and 22 1/4 inches long! He's in the 95th percentile for his height! Through the entire hour of being naked, poked, prodded, measured, and given a shot, he only whimpered once! He gave out a little scream when he got his shot, but no crying! WHAT A TROOPER! I'm so proud of him!

The doctor said he is very strong and perfectly healthy! She also said that "Mama's milk is working wonders!" That made me feel GREAT! I am so proud to be able to take such good care of him and know that he is thriving! What a joy! We will go back in 2 weeks for another weight check.

On my way to the doctor!

Mommy was tickling me to get me to make funny faces!

Baby Shower Wrap-up

More THANK-YOU'S:

Thank you, Tony, Sookie and Michael Vallone for sending the medicine kit, grooming kit, diaper pail and spare carseat base!

Uncle Ray and Aunt Rose, thank you so much for the (million piece) clothing set! It is awesome!

Also, Thank you, Gram and Bob and Tommy and Amy, for the beautiful cards and very generous monetary gifts!

Elizabeth, thank you for....well, EVERYTHING!!! The diaper party was amazing and the gifts were so much more than we ever could have asked for. But, most of all, thank you for being there for us. For being such a wonderful and reliable friend. For coming to the hospital and waiting with us, even when they sent me home. For coming back the next day and being there through my labor and delivery. I could not have had a better friend keep me laughing through labor and coach me through the delivery quite like you did. Thank you for coming to visit us after he was born and thank you for running to the store for me when we got home from the hospital. You really are the BEST! We love you so much!

Thank you, Gail, for coming down on Alistair's birthday! For cleaning our house, buying groceries, cooking our meals and ESPECIALLY thank you for taking such good care fo the rest of our "babies!" We really appreciate everything you did and are so glad you were able to come! Love you!

Thank you, Aunt Connie, for putting the whole baby shower together! The "virtual" shower was her idea and she organized EVERYTHING from the GORGEOUS invitations to the games and prizes! This shower gave us a wonderful start with Alistair and also reminded us just how many people love us and love our little boy.
